How
can you best remember all of those long-ago memories
from your school days? Try thinking of the exciting experiences
that you may have had during school, like: school dances,
sports days, report cards, favourite teachers, school trips
or your best friends.
It
may be a little late for you to make your own memory book
- that's where this website might help, but it's not too
late to think of your children/grandchildren. If you have
pictures or souvenirs from the types of events mentioned
from your children's school days, now is a good time to
put them all together. If you don't, all the details of
these events will slowly fade away and end up being lost
forever.
Capture
precious school memories right from infant and junior school
all the way through to their 5th or 6th form at high school.
At the beginning of each school year buy a scrap book for
each child. When papers come home that you want to save,
maybe a great piece of art or an "A" on a test,
or a note from the teacher on how well they did, slip them
into the album to remind your child of their progress through
school.
Nowadays
children may have a camera phone that they never leave home
without, if not, give your child a disposable camera every
now and then to take to school. Tell them to take shots
of their friends and to ask their friends take photos of
them. Then place these photos in an album as a special keepsake.
Collect
formal class pictures and write the names of all their friends
on the back. Keep cut-outs about their school from your
local paper or other photos from special events (remember
to make a note of the date it was published).
Share
your kids' accomplishments with family and friends - combine
photos and keepsakes with creative touches for a memorable
scrapbook. Making a school memory scrapbook is probably
the best way for you to assemble all of your children's
most important events, creating a personalised album that
they can look back on in years to come and perhaps show
their own children - creating a lasting keepsake they'll
thank you for later.
