Remember
how excited your were when you went on that school trip?
The journey itself was an experience and, for some, the
trip was the first time that they had spent the night away
from home.
Don't
you wish you could turn back the clock?
These
pages give you the chance to spend a nostalgic few minutes
strolling down Memory Lane. Spend a while reading your old
friends' recollections and looking at the photos taken on
the trip - then consider contacting the Fartown School website
and telling us what YOU remember.
Perhaps
you went on a trip to Belgium during your school days
and would like to share your memories of the trip. If
so, drop us an
email and tell us what you can remember. (Any suitable
photos of the visit would also be useful).
The
photograph above was taken by Philip Proctor on a school
trip to Belgium in his fourth year (1963-4). It shows Mr
Underwood and Miss Bell racing on a go-kart track - while
the rest of the pupils looked on.
Manchester
Airport 1963
How
many of you can remember back to their first year at Fartown
School, in 1963, and going on a school trip to Manchester
Airport.
Can you remember seeing this smart young eleven year old
(below, left) and going on the same school outing? One or
two years have passed by since this picture was taken so
perhaps not many of you will recognise the boy as being
Charlie Lockwood.
Liverpool
Overhead Railway and Manchester Ship Canal 1956
Perhaps
you went on a trip to the Liverpool Overhead Railway / Manchester
Ship Canal during your school days. The chap pictured below,
right, is enjoying his trip to the canal, but unfortunately
that's all we know about this picture.
If
you are the man in the picture, or if you know who it might
be, drop us an email
and tell us about your trip. If you went on any of the trips
mentioned, send us
an e-mail to say 'hi', and to let us know what you can
remember.
